The Importance of Having Bow Tuned BEFORE that big hunt!
A majority of bow hunters do not take the time to tune their bows mainly because it is time consuming and it takes some knowledge to tune a bow properly. Some archers even believe that if they buy the most expensive bow and accessories that they do not need to tune their bows, unfortunately it does not work this way!
Tuning your bow is recommended for a few reasons. Tuning your bow helps to improve your shooting, reduces the amount of wear to your equipment, and keeps your arrow shooting as straight as possible. You may be asking yourself, “does it really make that big of a difference?” It could mean the difference between bringing down your trophy animal or kicking yourself in the behind for missing that big buck. Let me explain.
You go to the outdoor shooting range for a little practice before the big hunt on the first day of bow season. You had your bow tuned at the beginning of last year so you have no worries (or so you may think). The sky is blue and the winds are calm. You take a few shots and notice a slight wobble to your arrow, but nothing to really worry about. The conditions are perfect until the wind picks up. What was a “little” wobble has now become even worse because of the wind. This happens when your bow has not been tuned. It is recommended that you tune your bow every year.
Bring your bow to Edgemoor Outdoors to have your bow tuned for that big hunt.
